چکیده

Background Disease flares of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are important stressors for patients (pts) who may use coping disease management. Some styles thought to be beneficial and help improve outcome whereas others harmful. Objectives We investigate the frequency intensity different in pts with an acute flare seropositive RA its impact on outcomes after 12 month therapy. Methods Coping was analysed Brief-COPE (1) using a 4 point Likert scale 222 participating ERFASS study (2). were by confirmatory exploratory factor analysis (CFA, EFA). activity measured via DAS28 (CRP), depression and/or anxiety Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale (HADS) Patient Health Questionnaire 9 (PHQ-9). Repeated measures ANOVA used identify effect strategies Spearman-Rho correlations. Results Factor revealed five dominant (problem oriented, emotion dysfunctional, religion, alcohol/drugs) which consistent during 6 months follow up. When analysing relative each strategy over time there no significant change treatment (Table 1). The usage only single style at baseline (“I am doing this medium amount” or “a lot”) reported 70 (31,5%). 65 (29,3%) 2 simultaneously, 25 (11,3%) 3 (1,8%) four styles. Problem oriented 125 (56,3%), emotional 97 (43,7%), dysfunctional 41 (18,5%), religion 24 (10,8%) alcohol/drugs (1,8%). 58 (26,1%) not any all” “only little bit”) these had lower course (p=0.036) as compared one more strategies. group high (DAS28 >5.1) (n=60), significantly higher those (U = 187,00, Z -2.025, p 0.043) (Figure other did predict activity. observed strong correlation between (PHQ9 r 0.590; HADS 0.569) well (HADS 0.639) but baseline.
